Nail pops are the one repair that's worth stopping to think about before you call us for another patch. Popping a nail pop back into place and re-spackling fixes it for a while, but the same spot usually opens back up within a year or two, because the drywall is still moving against the same stud.
If a wall has more than a handful of them, the smarter fix is often lamination: a new 1/4-inch layer of sheetrock over the existing wall, which eliminates the nail pops, old seams, and uneven patches in one pass instead of chasing each one individually. Questions About Spackling & Patching
Why do the same nail pops keep coming back after I patch them?
Patching fixes the surface, not the movement causing it. If the drywall is loose against the stud, the same spot will usually pop again. Lamination solves it permanently by covering the whole wall in one new layer.
Is patching enough, or do I need lamination?
Depends on how many spots and how old the wall is. A handful of holes, patching is fine. A wall with nail pops everywhere and visible old seams, lamination is usually the better long-term fix. We'll tell you which one during the free estimate.
Will the repair be visible after painting?
No. Spot repairs are feathered and finished so the patch disappears under paint, matching the surrounding texture.
